Apprenticeship ‘sparks’ a great career for Jack

As a recognised Apprenticeship Training Agency (ATA), a key part of our services at MiddletonMurray is the delivery of a high quality Apprenticeship programme with employers who wish to utilise the benefits of an ATA to source, arrange and host their Apprenticeships. One such employer with whom we have enjoyed a thriving relationship since 2014, is Berkeley Homes East Thames.

“I thoroughly enjoy working for Wilton Electrics Ltd on the Berkeley East Thames Project at Royal Arsenal Riverside and appreciate the support of MiddletonMurray…..I love working on a construction site as well as learning the theory at College and I hope to become a fully qualified NVQ Level 3 Electrician.”  Jack Crook, Apprentice, Wilton Electrics

Berkeley Homes East Thames build homes and neighbourhoods within the Royal Borough of Greenwich and have developed two of the largest regeneration projects in the UK – Kidbrooke Village and Royal Arsenal Riverside – each employing in excess of 2000 workers. Berkeley, with the assistance of trusted contractors, are renowned for offering Apprentice placements within the workforces on their sites, giving young local people the opportunity to contribute to the long term regeneration of the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

One such Apprentice is Jack Crook , who works for Wilton Electrics, a sub-contractor working on the Berkeley East Thames Project at Royal Arsenal Riverside who recently received an award from MiddletonMurray in recognition of the great progress he is making on his Apprenticeship with Wilton Electrics.

Speaking at the presentation of his award, Jack said ”I started my Electrical Apprenticeship in September 2015 and it has helped me to not only develop as a person but it has also shown me what I am capable of.”

Jack continued, ”I thoroughly enjoy working for Wilton Electrics Ltd on the Berkeley East Thames Project at Royal Arsenal Riverside and appreciate the support of MiddletonMurray. I love working on a construction site as well as learning the theory at College and I hope to become a fully qualified NVQ Level 3 Electrician and to progress further in my career. Construction is definitely an industry I would recommend and would encourage anyone with the opportunity to do so.”

Commenting on MiddletonMurray’s ATA service, Chairman Angela Middleton said ”our ATA programme is an essential service which supports employers to recruit, arrange and host their Apprentices – completely risk free. The Royal Arsenal Riverside is one of Berkeley’s biggest regeneration projects to date so being able to play our part in providing local young people like Jack – via our ATA – the opportunity to undertake an Apprenticeship at such an iconic location, is extremely rewarding for us.”
