You may well want to know who's who behind the scenes. Here's a brief biography of our Chairman, Angela Middleton. The entire company ethos echoes her personal drive, beliefs and values.
Angela Middleton, CEO & Chairman of MiddletonMurray Group, is a dynamic social entrepreneur and figurehead of the training and apprenticeship industry. After starting her career as a graduate trainee at BP Oil, she then moved into senior management positions at Barclays Bank before founding MiddletonMurray in 2002. Since then, the company has grown into one of the largest apprenticeship and training providers in the UK, placing over 2,500 young professionals into their first jobs. MiddletonMurray has been recognised and accredited for its achievements by numerous organisations and official bodies such as Goldman Sachs and Ofsted, and is currently valued in excess of £30m.
Angela is a confident communicator and networker, with experience of engaging with diverse audiences, from government, business and education. She is also a frequent print, social media and broadcast media industry commentator, particularly on careers, apprenticeships and the labour market. Angela regularly consults with businesses on the development of bespoke apprenticeship programmes, as well as adapting to embrace the Apprenticeship Levy coming into force in April 2017. She is a regular speaker at industry conferences to employers and at schools and is the published author of "How to get your first job and build the career you want". Its sequel is to be published shortly concerning the effectiveness of careers education conducted within schools.
Angela has held a number of non-executive positions, including membership of the Recruitment Apprenticeship Trailblazer Committee and as a governor at two secondary schools. In addition, she has held a number of voluntary positions as a careers coach, business mentor and patron within organisations such as the Ebbsfleet United FC Community Programme and the Charlton Athletic Community Trust.
Angela is a graduate of the University of West London - where she achieved an honours degree in Business Studies - and also of the Goldman Sachs 10k Small Business Programme. She is married to Steve Middleton and they have two children and three small dogs. Angela also enjoys health and fitness, theatre, fashion, reading and mindfulness and is a firm believer that success starts with your own mind and body.
